Maurizio Benucci, M.D., works as Physician at St. Giovanni di Dio Hospital, Florence, Italy, since 1997. He graduated at the Florence University in 1986 and specialized in rheumatology in 1992 at Siena University and in internal medicine in 1997 at the same university. He started the study of rheumatoid arthritis during his pursuit of the Ph.D. degree at the Siena University in 1987. He is a Member of the Directory of CROI College of Italian Hospital Rheumatology since 2008, and he is a Member of SIR Italian Society of Rheumatology and GIBIS Italian Group for the study of bisphosphonates. He collaborates with many Italian and international university institutes participating in many study projects. He serves also as a Member of scientific interest groups in different fields of rheumatology. His main fields of researches include evaluation of the biological therapies, particularly anti-TNF blocking agents in rheumatoid rthritis, B cells therapy, and pharmacoeconomic analysis in rheumatology. He authored about fifty-six papers.
