Alexandra Muñoz-Bonilla received her M.S. degree in 2002 from Complutense University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain. She completed her Ph.D. degree in 2006 at the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (ICTP-CSIC), Madrid, Spain, in the area of controlled radical polymerization. During her Ph.D. degree period, she also performed a stage at the University of Warwick, UK. Posterior, she carried out a postdoctoral at the University of Bordeaux, France, in the field of polymer surfaces and interfaces and a second postdoctoral period at the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, in the field of colloidal systems. Currently, Dr. Muñoz-Bonilla serves as a Scientist in the Macromolecular Engineering group at the ICTP-CSIC. Her areas of expertise are polymer chemistry (particularly glycopolymers and antimicrobial systems), surfaces, interfaces, and colloidal systems.
