Judith A. Smith

Judith A. Smith is an Associate Professor at the Department of Gynecologic Oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. In addition, Smith has a joint-faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UT Medical School and at the Department of Clinical Sciences and Administration at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, where she is the course coordinator for two graduate elective courses. She is an active clinical pharmacist as well as the Core Pharmacology Laboratory Director at UT Medical School at Houston. Her research focus is on drug development for gynecologic cancers and conditions with a specific focus on drug interactions/drug resistance. She received her B.S. degree in pharmacy from Union University, Albany College of Pharmacy in 1996 then completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1997. Smith also has completed an ASHP accredited 18-month residency in oncology pharmacy practice with a pharmacy practice equivalent at the National Institutes of Health. After her residency training, Dr. Smith completed a two-year fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology at UT MDACC. She has been an active member of the pharmacy profession. Currently, she serves on multiple editorial and advisory boards and is active peer reviewer for over thirty oncology related journals. She is also an active member of multiple pharmacy and oncology professional organizations.
