William Setzer

William Setzer received his B.S. degree in chemistry from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California. He received his Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry, under the direction of Dick Glass, from the University of Arizona in 1981. He was a postdoctoral fellow with Wes Bentrude at the University of Utah and an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow in the laboratory of Paul von Ragué Schleyer at the University of Erlangen. He joined the chemistry department at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1985 and is currently a Professor and Chair of the department. Will Setzer’s research interests are in phytochemistry, natural products drug discovery, and chemical ecology. He has authored more than 150 publications.
