Ming Zhan

Ming Zhan was born and educated in China. He is currently the Chief of Bioinformatics Unit at the National Institute on Aging, NIH in Baltimore, Md, USA. Dr. Zhan received his Ph.D. degree in molecular biology from the University of Western Ontario, ON, Canada in 1994, followed by a postdoctoral training in human genomics from the University of Victoria, BC, Canada. Before joining NIH in 2003, he worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Celera Genomics as a Project Leader and Senior Scientist, respectively. Dr. Zhan's research interests include deciphering modular and dynamic behavior of gene regulatory networks, identification of signature motifs of RNA binding proteins for posttranscription regulation, comparative genomics and transcriptomics, and computational molecular biology studies on embryonic stem cells and aging. He is an author of more than 40 scientific articles published on peer-reviewed journals, and he has served as an editor and ad hoc reviewer for multiple scientific journals.
