Carlos López-Larrea serves as a professor of immunology (Oviedo, Spain) and currently as the Head of the Department of Immunology at the Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias (Oviedo, Spain). The main research interests of his group currently include the role of NKG2D receptor and ligands in organ transplantation tolerance. He is a expert in genetic of MHC and of human diseases and the study of epigenetics mechanisms involved in autoimmunity. He serves as a member of several international scientific organizations and a board member of different scientific journals. He has published more than 150 relevant international papers and different books related with Immunology regulation
