Maurizio Carlini received the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, at Sapienza – Università di Roma, Rome, Italy, in July 1979. He is currently a Full Professor of systems for energy and environment at Tuscia University, Viterbo, Italy. His research interests include Internal combustion engines with the use of fuels and lubricants of vegetable origin, hybrid drive systems, engines for agroforestry equipment, modeling, construction and testing of stirling external combustion engines fueled with biomass, energy systems suitable for developing countries, recovery and utilization of waste plastics, disposal of wastewaters, and recovery systems for used oil. He has published over 100 scientific papers in international journals and conferences.
