Michele Andreucci is an Associate Professor of nephrology (and Specialist in nephrology) at the Magna Graecia University and Contract Professor of nephrology at the Catholic University of Molise of Campobasso, Italy. He received his medical degree from the Federico II University of Naples (Italy) and his Ph.D. degree (4 years) from the University of Parma (Italy), attending for the last two years the laboratory of Dr. J. V. Bonventre (January 2000–September 2002) at MGH East/Harvard Medical School at Charlestown, Mass, USA. He also serves various grants review committees of the Minister of the University and Research of Italy and he is referee of several prestigious biochemical, pharmacological, and nephrological scientific international journals. Nowadays, his main research field is the analysis of the intracellular signaling pathways (in vitro and in vivo) of acute kidney injury, including the contrast-induced nephropathy.
