Gabriel Navarrete-Vazquez received the B.S. degree in chemistry and pharmacy and the Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry from the National University of Mexico (UNAM), Mexico City, DF, Mexico, in 2004. He serves as a full-time Professor of organic and medicinal chemistry in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos, Cuernavaca, MOR, Mexico. He has been serving as a Member of the American Chemical Society, Divisions of Medicinal Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, since 2000. He is also a Member of the Mexican Chemical Society and Mexican Pharmaceutical Association. Navarrete-Vazquez is the Coeditor of the Mexican Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. His scientific production focuses on the design and synthesis of bioactive synthetic and natural compounds, the study of their pharmacological actions, and the structure-activity relationships. His research group is interested in the microwave-assisted organic synthesis, in silico PD/PK-ADMET predictions, and molecular docking and medicinal chemistry of azaheterocycles with antidiabesity, antihypertensive, antiparasitic, and antimycobacterial activities.
