Stefano Zaffagnini had his degree from the University of Bologna in 1987, with 110/110 cum laude with a specialization in orthopaedics and traumatology from the University of Bologna in 1992, with 70/70 cum laude. He was ESSKA AOSSM travelling in the USA. He performed a 6-month fellowship in sports medicine and orthopaedic research at the University of Pittsburgh (USA), under the direction of Professor F.Fu and Professor S. Woo. He took part as speaker in 213 International Meetings and 214 Italian National Meetings. From 1988 to 2014, he published 307 international abstracts and 118 Italian national abstracts. He was editor of 3 books, associate author of 9 book’s chapters, 3 monographs, 8 monograph’s chapters, and 8 videos. He works as Researcher in Biomechanics Laboratory of Codivilla-Putti Research Institute (Istituti Ortopedici Rizzoli, Bologna, Italy). He performed integrative lessons at the University of Bologna. From December 23, 2008, he is Researcher in diseases of locomotor apparatus at Faculty of Medicine, University of Bologna. Now he was declared eligible to become Associate Professor in orthopaedics and traumatology at Faculty of Medicine. He is member of the Editorial Board of KSSTA (Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, and Arthroscopy), Operative Techniques in Orthopaedics. He is Reviewer for the international journals: American Journal of Sports Medicine; Tissue Engineering; KSSTA; British Medical Bulletin; JOSPT; Acta Orthopaedica Scand; Cartilage. He is member of the Scientific Committee of ISAKOS, SIGASCOT, and SICSeG. He was member of the Cartilage Committee and he is the Chairman of the Arthroscopy Committee of ESSKA. He was the Scientific Chairman of the 15th and 16th ESSKA Congresses. From August 2009, he was a member of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament Study Group. He is Chairman SIGASCOT from September 2014.
