Tomislav Bolanca was born on 1974, in Zagreb, Croatia, graduated studying chemistry at the Faculty for Natural Science, University of Zagreb, in 1998, and in 2003, he received the Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology (FCET) at the same university. He was employed at University of Zagreb's Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology since 1998 as an Assistant and currently working at the Department for Analytical Chemistry as an Associated Professor. He teaches different courses at undergraduate (analytical chemistry, modern analytical techniques in environmental protection, and chemistry in environmental protection), graduate (chemometrics and water chemistry), and postgraduate (metrology in analytical chemistry and water chemistry) programs. His scientific areas of special interest are separation methods, ion chromatography, metrology in analytical chemistry, modeling in chromatography, and artificial neural networks. He published more than 40 scientific papers and participated as a Reviewer in more than 10 international journals. He served as a Visiting Scientist at National Institute for Chemistry (Slovenia, 2000 and 2003) and Dionex corp. (Idstein, Germany, 2003 and Sunnyvale, USA, 2003). He serves as the President of Section for Chromatography in Croatian Society of Chemical Engineers, as a Member of Technical Committee in Croatian Standard Institute, as a Member of AMACIZ, as a Member of Committee for Electronic Education (FCET), as a Member of Committee for Quality in Education (FCET), as a Member of Council for Postgraduate Study Engineering Chemistry (FCET), and as the President of Education Program titled Education in Ion Chromatography (FCET). He actively participated in more than few local and international scientific projects and currently leading national and participating in international (EUREKA) projects.
