Alessandro Serretti, M.D., Ph.D., has specialized in psychiatry and from 1999 to 2006, he served as the Director of the Unit of Genetics in Mood Disorders, Department of Psychiatry, Milan University, Italy. From 2001 to 2008, he became a Professor of statistical genetics at the same university. Since 2006, he works as an Associate Professor of psychiatry at Bologna University, Italy. He (co)authored more than 220 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. He serves as a Reviewer and a Member of the editorial boards of 90 journals and funding agencies, as a Principal Investigator in national and international scientific collaborative projects, and as a Coordinator of a research unit active in genetic and clinical studies of major psychoses.
