Dirk Drasdo serves as a Senior Researcher (Directeur de Recherche) at INRIA, France, and a Head of group on multicellular systems biology colocalized at the Interdisciplinary Center for Bioinformatics, University of Leipzig, Germany, and at INRIA. Dr. Drasdo held a faculty position at the Mathematics Department and the Center for Systems Biology at the University of Warwick, UK, and Research Associate positions at the Max-Planck-Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig and Colloid and Interface Science in Golm as well as at the Institute for Medical Informatics, Statistics, and Epidemiology at the Medical Faculty of Leipzig University. He received a Habilitation degree in computer science (University of Leipzig), a Ph.D. degree in physics (MPI for Biophysical Chemistry and University of Göttingen), and an M.S. degree in physics from the TU Aachen. His main research topics include multiscale modeling of tissues applied to in vitro systems, liver regeneration, and tumor growth and early development. Dr. Drasdo serves as a member in various national and international research networks.
