Antonio Laguna

Antonio Laguna was born in Huesca, Spain, in 1948. He received the chemistry degree (summa cum laude) and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Zaragoza, Spain (supervisor Rafael Uson), in 1970 and 1973, respectively. In 1974-1975, he was a Research Associate at the University of Bristol, UK, with F. Gordon A. Stone. From 1975 to 1986 A. Laguna was a Lecturer of inorganic chemistry at the University of Zaragoza. Presently, he is a Professor of inorganic chemistry. He is mainly interested in the study of the gold and silver chemistry: synthesis of mono- and polynuclear compounds, structural and theoretical characterization of homo- and heterometallic interactions, luminescent, and biological properties. He is a coauthor of 395 research papers, including 25 full reviews and more than 30 invited contributions. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of Gold Bulletin, Current Inorganic Chemistry, The Open Inorganic Chemistry Journal, and Studia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai, Seria Chemia.
