Young-Doo Kwon

Young-Doo Kwon was born in Daegu, Korea, in 1952. He received the mechanical engineering degree from the Seoul National University, Korea, in 1974 and the Ph.D. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, NY, USA, in 1985. Since 1977, he serves as a Faculty Member of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Kyungpook National University. He is mainly interested in FEM, machine design, and optimization. He has performed many research projects concerning rubber gaskets, water gates, and mechanics of nuclear fuels. He is a Member of KSME and KSAE and a Life Member of COSEIK and KSCM. He was an Editorial Member, Chapter Chair, and a Director of KSME. He was also a Member of ASME (2000~2008) and ASCE (2001~2009). He is the President of the Institute of Engineering Design and Technology/KNU since 2007.
