Wilma Polini serves as a Professor of manufacturing and production systems at the Faculty of Engineering, Università di Cassino, where she teaches mechanical technologies and computer aided production. She earned her M.A. degree in 1995 and her Ph.D. degree in 2000 from the Politecnico di Milano. Both degrees are in industrial engineering. She works as the Secretary of the Italian Association for Manufacturing (AITeM), and she is a Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering. She has published more than 100 papers in international journals and conferences. She serves as a Reviewer for national and international journals and conferences. Her main research activities are related to the study and development of geometrical tolerancing. Her research activities are dealing with both the tolerance definition and the tolerance design. Finally, another field of interest is the measurement through a coordinate measuring machine. Minor research activity is devoted to stone manufacturing technologies and robotized filament-winding technology optimization for composite parts.
