Hiroto Matsuse works as an Associate Professor (since 2009) and a Senior Assistant Professor (since 2006) in the Second Department of Internal Medicine, Nagasaki University School of Medicine, Nagasaki, Japan. He also serves as an Associate Professor in the Clinical Trials Management Center, Nagasaki University Hospital, since 2007. Matsuse obtained his M.D. degree from Oita Medical College, Oita, Japan, in 1989 and his Ph.D. degree from Nagasaki University School of Medicine in 1996 and completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, University of South Florida, Tampa, Fla, USA, from 1997 to 1999. His main field of specialization is respiratory medicine as well as clinical allergy and immunology. His current research interests include clinical trial in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, molecular interaction between allergen sensitization and respiratory infection, and role of dendritic cell in the pathogenesis of asthma.
