Meel Velliste

Meel Velliste was born in Tallinn, Estonia, in 1977. He received a B.S. degree in computer science and cybernetics from the University of Reading, Berkshire, UK, in 1998, and a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa, USA in 2002. He also received postdoctoral training in neurophysiology at Andrew B. Schwartz’s laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh and is presently a Research Assistant Professor of neurobiology at the same university. He is interested in brain-machine interfacing and neural control of prosthetic devices.
