Domenico Genovese works as a Doctor in Biology, and he has more than 25 years of research experience in the area of the molecular biology of RNA viruses. Genovese has received the Ph.D. degree in microbiology and virology. He is a Researcher in the HIV, Hepatitis, and Global Health Unit in the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Rome, Italy. In particular, his researches have been focused on the mechanism of action of antiviral drugs and on the study of virus resistant mutants' development as well as in the study of the molecular epidemiology of hepatitis viruses. In the last period, he was involved in studies of human and viral genetic with the objective to personalize the therapy of hepatitis infections through the fine application of host and viral markers indicators of virus resolution/control.
