Antonio Fernandez-Barbero works as a Full Professor of Physics and Head of the Group of Complex Fluids Physics and Nanotechnology Laboratory at the University of Almeria (Almeria, Spain). He obtained his Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Granada (Almeria, Spain) and Postdoc at the University of Bristol (Professor Brian Vincent), Bristol, UK. Professor Fernandez-Barbero is an Invited Professor at the University of Chicago (James Franck Institute, collaborating with Professor Sidney Nagel) and at the University of Cambridge (Cavendish Laboratory, collaborating with Professor Jeremy Baumberg). His research activity includes developments in the fields of material science and nanotechnology (nanoparticles, nanophotonics, soft materials, hydrogels, and granular materials). Static and dynamic light scattering, neutron scattering, AFM, SEM, TEM, NMR, and MRI are the most commonly used techniques in his group.
