Sanford Auerbach, M.D., is a Behavioral Neurologist and a Board Certified Sleep Specialist at the Boston Medical Center, Boston, Mass, USA, where he has been the Director of the Sleep Disorders Center and the Director of Behavioral Neurology. He is an Associate Professor of Neurology, Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, Mass, USA. Dr. Auerbach is a board certified sleep specialist who has been actively involved in the care of patients with insomnia and other sleep disorders since he first became Director of the Sleep Disorders Center in 1988. He is also responsible for the development of the ACGME-approved fellowship program in Sleep Medicine at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Auerbach has been actively involved in research efforts at the Framingham Study and the Boston University Alzheimer’s Center. He has been active in the Alzheimer’s Association and is a former Chair of the Board of Directors for the MA-NH chapter. His research interests have covered a variety of interests in sleep medicine and behavioral neurology.
