Won-Bo Wang obtained his B.S. degree from the Department of Agricultural Chemistry, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. He got his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Biological Sciences, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind, USA. He became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Division of Neoplastic Disease Mechanism, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, Mass, USA. Currently, he is a Professor at the Graduate Institute of Microbiology, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, Taiwan. He is also a Committee Member of the Board of Directors of Taiwan Genomics and Genetics Society. His areas of expertise are bacteriology (pathogenesis of Proteus mirabilis), DNA tumor viruses (simian virus 40, pathogenic role of Epstein-Barr virus in nasopharyngeal carcinoma), oncology (therapy of HER2-overexpressing cancers, genomic instability, and Chinese medicine in cancer therapy), and influenza A virus (pathogenesis of influenza A virus, host and virus interaction).
