Rene Kizek is currently working as an Associate Professor of agricultural chemistry at the Mendel University in Brno, with a joint appointment as a Leader of the Laboratory of Metallomics and Nanotechnologies. He received his M.S. degree in plant protection from the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno, in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree in cellular and molecular biology under Professor E. Palecek from the Masaryk University in Brno in 2002. He was awarded a prize for scientific activity at the same university in 2009. He is the owner of two patents. His research activities are primarily focused on the study and detection of biologically active compounds in plant and animal organisms.
