Colin G. Scanes

Colin G. Scanes was born in 1947 in London, England. He received the B.S. degree (First Class Honors in biological chemistry and zoology) in 1969, the D.S. degree in 1985 from Hull University (UK), and the D.Phil. degree from the University of Wales (UK) in 1972. He has held faculty positions at University of Leeds (1972–1978) and Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey (1978–1995) and faculty/administrative positions at Iowa State University (1995–2004) and Mississippi State Universit(2004–2007). He is presently a Vice Chancellor for Research/Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wis, USA. His research interests have focused on the endocrinology of growth, metabolism, and reproduction in domestic animals, particularly poultry. He is the author of over 270 refereed papers and 13 books.
