N. Ambrosino

N Ambrosino works as the Director of the Pulmonary Department, the Director of the Respiratory Unit of University Hospital of Pisa, the Director of Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Weaning Unit of Auxilium Vitae, Volterra, the Scientific Director of the same institution, and is or has been appointed professor at Italian Universities of Pisa, Pavia, Firenze, Trieste, Milano, and Modena. His research activity has been devoted to COPD, Respiratory Critical Care, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and Home Respiratory Care. He contributed to the development of the use of noninvasive mechanical ventilation techniques in acute and chronic respiratory failure with several clinical trials and original physiological studies. Results of such studies have been published in 172 articles (Medline) on peer-reviewed international journals with more than 4000 citations and Hirsh H index 32. His last 10 original papers are attached. He is also an Editor or Coeditor of 18 books dealing with topics of his research activity and has contributed to several documents of ERS, ATS, and AIPO (Italian Association of Hospital Pulmonologists) including Statements and Guidelines. He served as a Former Head of Pulmonary Rehabilitation Working Group, a Secretary of the Clinical Assembly of the European Respiratory Society, a Chief Editor of the European Respiratory Topics, and a First Coeditor of Breath. Presently he serves as an Associate Editor of the European Respiratory Journal and a Member of the editorial boards of several international journals. Ambrosino has attended as an Invited Speaker at more than 150 international meetings.
