Chin-Tien Wang graduated with an MD degree from Kaohsiung Medical University School of Medicine, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 1984. He moved on to acquire a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Oregon Health Sciences University, USA, in 1993. He is currently Professor at the Institute of Clinical Medicine at the National Yang-Ming University School of Medicine, and Adjunct Associate Investigator, Department of Medical Research and Education, Taipei Veterans General Hospital. His areas of expertise include molecular virology, RNA viruses, retroviruses, and HIV, with a research focus on HIV-1 and coronavirus assembly.
