Rajesh Ravindran Nair

Rajesh Ravindran obtained his B.S. degree in 1998, from Mahatma Gandhi University, India, and his M.S. degree in biotechnology in 1998, from the Department of Biotechnology, Andhra University, India. In 2004, he obtained his Ph.D. degree from The Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Calcutta, India, under the title “Identification of Leishmania donovani antigens for protective efficacy in an experimental model of visceral leishmaniasis.” Dr. Ravindran’s main research focus is on mucosal immunology-basic mechanisms by which mucosal innate immune cells control the adaptive immune system in models of infection, tolerance, and nutrient deficiency. Since 2007, he has been working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Department of Pathology, Yerkes Primate Research Center, Emory Vaccine Center, Atlanta, Ga, USA.
