Pamela E. Prete
Pamela E. Prete, MD, FACP, FACR is Professor of Medicine, Emeritus, at the University of California at Irvine. She is and has been Section Chief of Rheumatology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Long Beach California, USA since 1982. She is Program Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship at both institutions and an educator in musculoskeletal ultrasound. For the last fifteen years, Dr. Prete's research interests have shifted from basic science to clinical rheumatology. She has conducted numerous randomized clinical trials in Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. She is the author of many peer reviewed publications, monographs, online books and book chapters. She has authored and edited teaching online videos for the Veterans Administration, Talent Management System, providing online national Veterans employee education. Dr. Prete is the physician for the Blind Rehabilitation Center of the Veterans Administration, Long Beach, CA, because of her interest and knowledge in ophthalmologic manifestations of autoimmune diseases. Dr. Prete has been recognized an outstanding teacher and educator on several occasions and as a Best Doctor in America since 1996.
