Agnès Aubouy

Agnes Le Cardinal Aubouy was born in 1974 in France. She received a Master degree and a PhD degree in parasitology from the University of Montpellier in 1999 and 2003, respectively. During her PhD, she studied malaria in children in a research centre localised in Gabon (Centre International de Recherches Médicales de Franceville, CIRMF). In 2003-04, she was a posdoctoral fellow in a resarch team of the University of French Guyana. Since 2004, she is a researcher of the Development Research Institute (IRD, France). From 2004 to 2009, she worked in the research unit UMR216 "Mother and child facing tropical indfections" (IRD/Paris V University ), in Cotonou, Benin. Since mid-2009, she works in the research unit UMR152 (IRD/Toulouse University) in Toulouse, France. She is interested in antimalarial efficacy and mechanisms of resistance, but also in pathophysiology of severe malaria in children, immune and cytoadhesion mechanisms.
