Piero Andrea Temussi

Piero Andrea Temussi received the Laurea in Chimica degree, the only degree in chemistry existing in Italy before the introduction of the Ph.D. degree, summa cum laude in 1962. In 1966, he was the recipient of Premio Francesco Giordani Prize as best graduate of the University of Naples in chemistry and chemical engineering during 1961 and 1965. Since 1980, he works as a Full Professor of general chemistry at the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy. Temussi has visited many laboratories overseas as a Postdoctoral Fellow or a Visiting Professor. In particular, he works as a Postdoctoral Fellow with Professor Herbert S. Gutowsky, University of Illinois, Urbana, Ill, USA, with Professor S.Lifson., Weizman Institute of Science, Rehovoth, Israel, as a Visiting Professor with Professor Murray Goodman at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, USA, and with Professor E.M. Bradbury at the Portsmouth Polytechnic, UK. Moreover, Temussi serves as a Visiting Professor at the University of California, San Diego, Calif, USA, teaching advanced organic chemistry, at the MPI of Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany, and at the University of Osaka, Japan. He works as a Host Professor at the Accademia dei Lincei. Currently, he is a Visiting Professor at NIMR, MRC, London, UK. In addition, he is a Member of the advisory board of the Journal of Peptide Science.
