M. C. Deo

M. C. Deo works as a Professor of civil engineering in IIT, Bombay. His current research interest belongs to applications of artificial intelligence techniques such as neural networks, genetic programming, model tress, support vector machines, and locally weighted learning, to analyze and forecast oceanographic data, such as waves, wind, tide, currents, sediment movement. He has about 25 years of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy and has guided a number of students for their Ph.D. and M.Tech. theses. He has published over 100 papers so far in leading journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Deo is on the editorial boards of three international and one national journal, including the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering. He also acts currently as President of the Indian Society for Hydraulics.
