Yasuo Amano, M.D., Ph.D., serves currently as an Associate Professor of radiology at Nippon Medical School, Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from Nippon Medical School and earned the Medical Board License of Japan. After resident training, he earned the Certificate of the Board of Radiology of Japan and became a Certificated Instructor for Foreign Medical Doctors of Japan. He reviews approximately 10 scientific papers a year, which are submitted to international journals related to diagnostic radiology and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). His research interest is in developing new methodologies of cardiovascular MRI and improvement of MRI interpretation of myocardial diseases, especially that of nonischemic cardiomyopathies. His most recent work includes MRI detection and quantification of myocardial diffuse fibrosis using T1-scout MRI, differential diagnosis of myocardial hypertrophy using cardiac MRI, and 4D flow imaging technique for some types of aortic diseases.
