Omar Benzakour

Omar Benzakour is a Full Professor of cell biology, at the University of Poitiers, France. His research is related to the relationship between coagulation factors and tumor growth and metastasis. Since June 2000, he is a Member of the Editorial Board and Section Editor for Thrombosis and Haemostasis. He is also a Member of the Editorial Board of Coeur et Vaisseaux which is an international journal in French on cardiovascular disease. He was nominee in 1996 and 1997 for the Sanofi International Awards on Vascular Biology at the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). He was also appointed in 1999 as Expert in the cardiovascular panel within the European Commission in Brussels. Professor Omar Benzakour is graduated from the University of Paris XI, France, in 1992. His Ph.D research work was conducted at the Curie Institute, Orsay, Paris, France. He was first appointed as a Research Fellow at the Thrombosis Research Institute, Kings College, London, UK, then honorary lectureship in 1996. In 2000, he was appointed as a Faculty Member at the University of Rochester Medical Center, NY, USA. He was then appointed as a Member of the Dean Research Advisory Board and Consultant in Cell Biology with Socratech TLC.
