In 1990, Hiasa obtained the Japanese Medical License Registration, in 1995, the Board Certified Member of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, in 1999, the Board Certified Member of the Japanese Society of Hepatology, in 2000, the Board Certified Member of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology, in 2004, the Board Certified Member of the Japanese Society of Allergology, in 2004, the Board Certified Member of the Japanese Society of Ultrasonics in Medicine, and in 2005, the Board Certified Member of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine in Japan. In 2003, Hiasa was a Member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and in 2009, was a Member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the Editorial Board of Journal of Gastroenterology.
