Dmytro Shchukin, Ph.D. holder, was born in 1967 and graduated from Lugansk Medical Institute, Lugansk, Ukraine, in 1992. After his urology training, he was appointed Chair of Urology at Kharkov Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, Kharkov, Ukraine. In 2000, he defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled “MRI in patients with renal tumors, ” and then followed his additional training in paediatric urology and oncology in Kharkov. He has been the Head of the Department of Urology at the Regional Clinical Centre of Urology and Nephrology in Kharkov, Ukraine, since 2011. Shchukin is the author of a monograph “Surgical treatment of IVC tumor thrombus in patients with renal cell carcinoma,” and more than 150 articles published in national and international journals. His main interests are oncourology, urinary incontinence, and reconstructive surgery.
