Munishwar Nath Gupta

Munishwar Nath Gupta was born in New Delhi, India, in 1948. He received his M.S. degree in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and the Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 1969 and 1975, respectively. His Ph.D. work dealt with the chemical modification of proteins with ortho-quinones. Subsequently, he carried out postdoctoral work at the University of Minnesota, USA; MIT, USA; Lund University, Sweden; UTC, France. Currently, he is a Professor of chemistry at IIT Delhi. Gupta was a National Science Talent Search Scholar. He has edited three books: Thermostability of Enzymes (1993), Springer Verlag, Germany; Methods in Non-Aqueous Enzymology (2000), Birkhauser Verlag, Basel, Switzerland; Methods in Affinity-Based Separation of Proteins/Enzymes (2002), Birkhauser Verlag, Basel, Switzerland. Currently, he is an Associate Editor (Reviews) for Biocatalysis and Biotransformation. Also, he is a Member of the Editorial Boards of Indian Journal of Biochemistry and Biophysics; Artificial Cells; Blood substitutes and Biotechnology; Chemistry Central Journal; Recent Patents on Biotechnology; the Open Biotechnology Journal.
