Steffen Heidenreich

Steffen Heidenreich received his Ph.D. degree in process engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1997. From 1997 to 2000, he served as a Scientist at the Institute of Material Research at the Research Center of Karlsruhe, Germany. In 2000, he joined SCHUMACHER Umwelt- und Trenntechnik GmbH, Germany (now Pall Filtersystems GmbH) as a Leader of the Process Development group. Today, he acts as the Head of the Research and Development Department of Pall Filtersystems GmbH Werk Schumacher and Technology Director for hot gas filtration and gas catalysis of Pall Corporation, USA. He is author or coauthor of more than 50 papers in international journals and of more than 20 patents and patent applications. He works as the Vice Chairman of the subject division “Gas Cleaning” of ProcessNet, the German platform for chemical engineering. His current research interests focus on hot gas filtration, the combination of filtration, and catalytic gas phase reactions (e.g. DeNOx applications and tar removal in biomass gasification), catalysts, and ceramic supports.
