Jill Benson

Jill is Director of the Health in Human Diversity Unit in the Discipline of General Practice, University of Adelaide. She has been a GP for over 30 years, originally graduating from the University of Sydney. Her book 'Mental Health Across Cultures. A practical guide for health professionals' was released in 2009. She is Senior Medical Officer at the Migrant Health Service in Adelaide, a State-funded service that cares for newly arrived refugees; Medical Director of the Kakarrara Wilurrara Health Alliance, an alliance of the remote Aboriginal communities at Yalata, Oak Valley and Tjuntjuntjara; and a WHO conultant in Vanuatu with the Pacific Islands Mental Health Network (PIMHnet).
