Kenneth K.M. K. Lam

Kenneth K. Lam received his Associateship in electronic engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPolyU), in 1986, his M.S. degree in communication engineering from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in 1987, and his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Sydney, in 1996. From 1990 to 1993, he was a Lecturer at the Department of Electronic Engineering of HKPolyU. He joined the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, HKPolyU, again as an Assistant Professor in October 1996, and has become an Associate Professor since February 1999. Dr. Lam was actively involved in professional activities. In particular, he was the Secretary of the 2001 International Symposium on Intelligent Multimedia, Video and Speech Processing, a Program Committee Member of the 2002 Conference on Visual Communications and Image Processing, and the Secretary of the 2003 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Currently, Dr. Lam is the Treasurer of the IEEE Hong Kong Chapter of Signal Processing, a Program Committee Member of the 2004 Conference on Advanced Concepts for Intelligent Vision Systems, and the Technical Chair of the 2004 International Symposium on Intelligent Multimedia, Video and Speech Processing (ISIMP 2004) to be held in Hong Kong in October 2022, 2004. His research interests include face recognition, image and video processing, and computer vision.
