Camil Castelo-Branco is a Professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Barcelona University and is currently working at the Hospital Clínic i Provincial de Barcelona as Senior Consultant and Director of the Gynecological Endocrinology Unit. Dr Castelo-Branco is also interested in clinical management of healthcare processes, obtaining in 2006 a M.S. degree in hospital and health services management. Member of the Executive Board of the International Menopause Society and of the Spanish Menopause Society. He is Chair of the Osteoporosis Group of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Spanish Society. He is an honorary and full member of several obstetrics and gynecology and menopause societies abroad. He is a former Researcher and Reviewer of the Fondo de Investigaciones Sanitarias (Health research foundation) National Health Institute, Spain. He is the Director, Main Investigator, and Investigator of many research medical projects, 38 sponsored by private companies and industry and 14 by certified institutions such as universities, hospitals, governmental departments, and institutions. He is a Member of Agusti Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS ). He is a recognized and an authorized animal and experimental researcher by Barcelona University, the Catalonian Autonomous Government, the Scientific Committee, and Steering Committee; He acts as an organizer of several national and international meetings, congresses, and courses including the 12th IMS World Congress. He is an Editor, Editorial Board Member, and/or Consultant for over 30 peer-reviewed medical journals. Castelo-Branco is also the Office Director of the Ibero American Society for Scientific Information and has been a Member of the editorial board of Climacteric since 2008. His research interests are gynaecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine in particular metabolic diseases. He published more than 230 original articles and reviews in national and international peer-reviewed medical journals, and more than 120 books and/or book chapters related to the specialty. He also gave more than 260 lectures in national and international scientific meetings.
