Michael Fassbender
Michael Fassbender currently holds the position of a Senior Radiochemist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has more than 15 years of experience in the areas of radionuclide production, nuclear data measurement, radiolabeling, and radioisotope separation chemistry. Fassbender obtained his Ph.D. degree in chemistry and nuclear chemistry from the University of Cologne in 1997. After a two-year postdoc fellowship at iThembaLABS, South Africa, in the field of cyclotron radionuclide production, he came to Los Alamos as a Postdoc Research Associate in 2000. He became permanent staff in 2002 and has taken on many technical, scientific, and scholarly responsibilities within the US Department of Energy’s National Isotope Program.
