Antonios Gasteratos

Antonios Gasteratos serves as an Assistant Professor of mechatronics and artificial vision at the Department of Production and Management Engineering, DUTH, Greece. He holds a Diploma and a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, DUTH, Greece, 1994 and 1999, respectively. During 1999-2000, he was a postdoc fellow at the Laboratory of Integrated Advanced Robotics (LIRA-Lab), DIST, University of Genoa, Italy. He has served as a reviewer to numerous scientific journals and international conferences. He has also served as peer reviewer for several funding schemata. He has published one textbook, 6 book chapters, and more than 100 scientific papers. He serves as a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Member of IAPR, ECCAI, EURASIP and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). He has participated in many European and national funded projects. He has served as a Principal Investigator in RESCUER, ACROBOTER, VIEWFINDER, INFRA, SPARTAN and AVERT, and 2 national projects. He has been a Member of European Robotics Research Network (EURON), euCognition, I*PROMS, and EuCogII European networks.
