Neriman Gokden is an Associate Professor of pathology and urology, and the Director of Surgical Pathology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), Little Rock, Ark, USA. She received her M.D. degree in 1986 from Dokuz Eylul University Medical School, Izmir, Turkey, followed by residency training in anatomical pathology at the same institution. She completed an anatomic and clinical pathology residency training in 2000 in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Mo, USA. It was followed by fellowship training in surgical pathology at the same institution. After completing her training in 2002, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in UAMS, where has been on faculty since then. She is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and is heavily involved in diagnostic pathology, teaching, and clinical research. She has authored and coauthored a number of publications, is an Active Member of Renal Pathology Society, United States, the Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the International Society of Nephrology, and an active participant of their meetings with presentations and committee services. Her research interests involve diagnostic features of diseases, diagnostic methods, and translational research in pathology, with emphasis on renal pathology and genitourologic pathology, especially kidney tumors.
