Ahmed M. Alkhunaizi

Ahmed M. Alkhunaizi was born in Saudi Arabia in 1961. He did his MD in general medicine at the University of Vienna, Austria and graduated in 1986. He finished his residency training in Internal Medicine at Indiana University, USA, in 1993. He did his fellowship in Nephroloy at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, USA, between 1993-1996. During his fellowship, he was engaged in basic sciences research in acute kidney injury under the mentorship of Dr. Robert W. Schrier. He also completed a fellowship in Transplant Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University, USA, between 1996 and 1998. During that time he was engaged in clinical research with Drs. Douglas Norman and William Bennett. In 1998 he joined Saudi Aramco Medical Services Organization, Saudi Arabia, where he is currently working as a consultant nephrologist/transplant physician. He is certified by the American Board in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is a recipient of several awards and has authored several book chapters and scientific publications
