Patrick Kung received the Diplôme d'Ingénieur degree from the École Polytechnique (Palaiseau, France) in 1993, and his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA, in 2000. From 2000 to 2007, he was a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Northwestern University. He then joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL, USA, as an Assistant Professor. His area of research encompasses compound semiconductor materials and nanostructure synthesis and the correlated characterization involving atom probe tomography, as well as optoelectronic and electronic devices and applications. Kung has authored or coauthored more than a hundred publications. He is a Member of APS, AVS, IEEE, and SPIE.
