Shirish S. Karande

Shirish Karande is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Michigan State University (MSU). He received his B.E. degree in electronics and telecommunications from University of Pune in 2000, and his M.S. degree in electrical engineering from MSU in 2003. He is the recipient of the Department of ECE Outstanding Graduate Student Award, the Fitch H. Beach Endowed Engineering Fellowship, and the MSU Excellence in Teaching Citation. He has also been recognized by the Government of India National Talent Search (NTS) Scholarship. His research interests include source-channel-network coding, multimedia coding and transport, resource allocation and placement in wired/wireless networks, delay and disruption tolerant networking.
