Mauro Delogu received his degree in 1992 in veterinary medicine at the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy. In 1977, he obtained the Ph.D. degree. He is a winner of a postdoctoral fellowship, and he conducted research at the Section of Avian Pathology, Department of Veterinary Public Health and Animal Pathology, University of Bologna, and then at the National Institute for Wildlife. He is, moreover, a winner of the Public Competition for Researcher in 2000, which pertains to date. He is a Researcher at the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Animal Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bologna, Italy. He is responsible for the Testing Laboratories of Ecology Pathogens, certified by the Quality System (ISO 9001: 2000; Certificate number 3516/1/II) of the University of Bologna. His research activities are directed to the knowledge of the ecology of diseases in wild species for the prevention of infections in species subject to intensive farming, the study of pathocenosis, and identification for some diseases, and the mechanisms of the ecological interface between species, wild domestic species, and humans. He is a Member of the Committee of the Executive Council of the Italian Society of Avian Pathology and of the Executive Committee of the Regional Park of the Gessi Bolognesi and Badlands dell'Abbadessa. Delogu is the author of over 140 scientific papers; he published in national and international journals. He has also collaborated in some scientific publishing works.
