Isabel Lara graduated from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Spain with a BSc degree in Biology in 1989, followed by a MSc in Plant Physiology in 1991, a MSc in Biotechnology in 1995 and a PhD in Plant Science in 1999. Since 1996 he has worked at the Chemistry Department at the University of Lleida (Spain), and has been associated to the Postharvest Unit of the joint UdL-IRTA research center. She is now a senior lecturer at the same Department. Her research background is the biochemistry and physiology of fruit ripening and postharvest.
