Mike S.L. Liem

Mike S.L. Liem is a Consultant Surgeon and Clinical Epidemiologist at the Division of Surgical Oncology and Gastrointestinal Surgery, Deventer Hospital. He completed his Ph.D. thesis (cum laude) on modern insights in inguinal hernia repair (1997). He is a Fellow at the Department of HPB surgery and ivertransplantation, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong (2003), a Fellow at the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia (2004), and a Fellow at the Division of Surgical Oncology, Dutch National Cancer Institute, Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2005). Liem's fields of interests are inguinal hernia, breast carcinoma, and hepatobiliary surgery, in particular colorectal livermetastases and epidemiology.
