Oded Millo

Oded Millo holds the Harry de Jur Chair of Applied Science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His group focuses on scanning-probe microscopy studies of nanostructured superconductor and semiconductor systems, and metal/insulator composites. He applies cryogenic scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy in order to obtain spatially resolved information on the local density of states and tunneling-transport properties of these systems. In addition, conductive-probe atomic force microscopy is applied in studies of the intricate electrical conduction mechanisms in metal/insulator composites, nanocrystalline semiconductors and quantum-dot solid. These local-probe measurements are performed in conjunction with macroscopic measurements, providing deep insight into the microscopic origin of the global behavior of such complex systems.
